A WORD ABOUT US

Word Of Faith Christian Fellowship Church was established in 1993 by our own Pastor Johnny E. Floyd and his virtuous wife, Co-Pastor Gail Floyd at 107 Queen Street in West Greenville.  God emblazoned a vision on Pastor Floyd’s heart for nourishing the spiritual needs of men and women as well as feeding their physical hungers.  This vision included reaching out to those who were hurting in their spirits, their minds, and their bodies; and creating outreach ministries to shelter the homeless, to clothe the naked, and to feed the hungry.  This vision gave birth to our church’s motto which can be found in Acts 17:28 and simply states: “For in Him we live, and move, and have our being.”

WORD OF FAITH was founded on the belief that there is but ONE true and living GOD, manifested in the triune Godhead of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Pastor Floyd constantly teaches that the Holy Bible is the infallible authoritative Word of God and that all who die “out of Christ” will be punished eternally; but those who die “in Him” will share His Glory FOREVER.

Everyone who passes through the doors of WORD OF FAITH are offered unconditional acceptance, reconciliation, and love by Pastor and Co-Pastor Floyd.  All who take heed to their guidance are encouraged to learn to worship in the quiet of prayer, the joy of song, and to grow spiritually as well as in all other aspects of their lives.

WORD OF FAITH began with just a handful of devoted members, but through many trials and triumphs, God has shown the church favor and blessed this ministry tremendously.  In 2004 the church moved from its previous location on Queen Street to our current location here at Tremont Avenue.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe...

...There is but one true and living God, the great Creator, eternally existent and manifested in the triune Godhead:  the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
...The Holy Bible to be the inspired, inherent and only infallible authoritative Word of God.
...Jesus Christ to be the begotten Son of the Father, conceived by the Virgin Mary; crucified, buried, and raised from the dead; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; the all-sufficient atonement by His blood to cleanse all who believe on Him and respond through repentance and faith in Christ alone; and His personal return to power and glory to rapture His church.
...In the eternal redemption of all saints who are faithful to the end.  But we reject the theology of "once in grace, always in grace" regardless of conduct.
...All who die out of Christ will be punished eternally, but those who die in Him shall share His glory forever.
...We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, and speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance to be the initial evidence of this experience.
...In the operation of nine Gifts of the Spirit and encourage our members to so live that these gifts may be manifested in their lives.

WHAT OUR LOGO SYMBOLIZES

The purpose of our logo is to identify us in a very simplistic form through the use of an icon.  When developing our logo, we wanted something that would be simple, memorable, and appropriate that would personify what we believe in at Word Of Faith.  Therefore; the logo exemplifies the following:
•The SWORD:  Hebrews 4:12 states:  “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
•The SHEILD:  Ephesians 6:16 states:  “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
•The PALM BRANCHES:  John 12: 12-13 states:  “On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.”
•The DOVE:  Luke 3:22 states:  “And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.”
